Chat with Dispatch

Chat with Dispatch lets students send a 1:1 message to a campus police dispatcher to discretely report a situation or request assistance. The chat feature has proven to be a valuable tool and has seen frequent and valuable usage with many of our partner institutions.

Simply put, Chat is a way for students to be able to very discretely and if necessary, quietly report something to Campus Police or Security. For example, if a student is surrounded by their peers and they see illegal or dangerous activity, it’s difficult for them to openly call for help. With the chat option, the user can quickly and unknowingly to others, contact the appropriate authorities.

How it works in the app:

User will need to tap the “Chat Now” button to chat with their Campus Police or Security in real-time. This is a great way to discretely report information to the Campus Police or Security.

Please note that if Campus Police or Security is not available you will not be able to chat with them. Further, if this is an emergency and you are able to speak and make a phone call, please use "Call 911" under emergency contacts.

As well, you must be connected to a WiFi or Cellular network to access this feature.
