This how-to article will show how to set up your Twitter Credentials in the AppArmor Dashboard.

If you do not have a Twitter Project and App already set in in the Twitter Developer Portal, please see this article here: How To: Set up a Twitter Project and App in the Twitter Developer Portal

\uD83D\uDCD8 Instructions

  1. In your AppArmor Dashboard, navigate to the Twitter Alerting Mechanism settings page

  1. Click on the “Subscribe Twitter Handle” button to add a new Twitter Subscriber

  1. Navigate to https://twitter.developer.com and sign in using the same credentials you use to sign in to your Twitter account.

  1. Click on the Key symbol on your AppArmor Twitter App

  1. You will need to copy and paste the following keys into the corresponding spots on the AppArmor Dashboard

    • API Key → Consumer Key

    • API Secret → Consumer Secret

    • Access Token → Access Token

    • Access Secret → Access Secret

If you are following this tutorial from the previous How-to article, you may have already set aside your API Key and Secret. If not, feel free to regenerate them and copy the new keys into the AppArmor Dashboard.

The same goes for the Access Token and Access Secret

  1. Fill out the remaining fields on the AppArmor Dashboard and press “Save”

The Twitter API Version is automatically set to Version 2 for any new Twitter Credentials. If an error occurrs while testing your configuration, try setting this back to Version 1.1.

You have now set up your Twitter credentials in the AppArmor Dashboard for AppArmor Alert. Please send a test notification to this subscription to ensure it is working correctly.
