The Desktop Alert Applications allows you to alert desktop users via system tray icon that will display a full screen alert when you send your notifications. See Desktop Alerts Alerting Mechanism for details on how this works in the Dashboard.

Installation Instructions

System Requirements

Windows 7 or later, .NET Framework 4.5.2, Internet Access

Installation

The installation is simple.  We provide both a "Setup.exe" (manual installations) and an MSI installer (silent/network installations). Steps below to get the installers (you'll ned access to the AppArmor Dashboard)

  1. Log into the Dashboard, click "Communications/Alerting Mechanisms"
  2. Find the "Desktop Alerts" mechanism, and choose "Settings"
  3. Under the Tools tab, you'll see the option to download!


You can view connected devices via the "View Devices" button in this section of the Dashboard.

Networking

Only outbound https connections are needed (port 443).  There shouldn't be any firewall changes needed.
