Outbound voice call allows you to automatically telephone users to provide alert information. Useful for users who prefer a call instead of a text-based notification.

Subscribers are organized into groups.  The groups consists of a group code, group name, and description.

Users are subscribed using an phone number. The phone number and one or more groups must be selected when subscribing a user.

The Suppressions tab displays any phone numbers that will be omitted from future messages.  Phone numbers are automatically added to the suppressions list when:

  • A call failure occurs (phone number doesn’t exist, etc.)
  • The user chooses to unsubscribe by following instructions in the message.

If you believe that a user has been added to the suppression list in error, you can manually remove them.

The Tools tab allows you to bulk subscribe users by pasting a list of email addresses and selecting the groups you would like them subscribed to.  There is also an HTML subscription section that allows you to embed a widget onto your website to allow users to subscribe online via your website.

Verified Number

You can also configure a “Verified Number” for your outbound calls.  This configures the system to make outbound calls from a number that you already own.  This helps to provide further trust cues to users receiving calls, their call display will show a recognized phone number rather than an AppArmor standard toll free number.
