The Push Notifications feature allows you to send notifications to mobile app users.  The page also allows you to create and manage “Canned” push notification templates.  When sending the notifications, you may also have the option to send the notifications to a specific “Channel”.

A history of the sent push notifications is available.

The page also allows you to send “Draft” push notifications to devices that are registered to receive draft notifications.  This allows you to test the feature before using it in production.

More About Push Notifications

Push notifications are the built in mass notification system available in all AppArmor custom mobile safety applications. The notifications are similar to a text message; they will pop up on the device’s main screen and alert the user to an emergency situation. All AppArmor partner institutions have the ability to send an unlimited number of mass notifications to an unlimited number of users.

Our push service also integrates with any existing ENS. We have an API which makes the integration extremely simple.

At install, the user is prompted to “allow” your mobile safety app to send it push notifications. The vast majority of users using an AppArmor Custom Mobile Safety App consent – to the tune of 95%. It’s because your users trust your brand and know that you won’t spam them with unnecessary messages.

Push notifications have numerous advantages: the notifications will appear regardless of whether or not the app is running, they travel over WiFi and Cellular networks helping them reach more users faster than a traditional SMS, and they drive the user into the app rather than a messaging client. It’s an incredibly powerful mass notification tool.
