The Defaults page allows you to specify default values for the various modules. This will speed up your editing time because many of the properties will already be configured correctly. Generally speaking, defaults apply only to esthetic aspects of your app.
Many of the designer modules share similar attibutes. For instance, many modules have a “text color”. These similarly named properties are ideal for defaults because their values will almost all match throughout the app.
Defaults consist of a property name and a property value. Defaults can be bulk applied on a single property basis within the app by clicking “Apply to App”. Also, the entire set of defaults can be applied to the App by clicking “Apply All to App” at the bottom of the defaults page. Be careful when using this feature as it will overwrite all the values of the properties within the app. When defaults are applied to your app, the app configuration is immediately published.
Once you have set your defaults, use the save button to save them.
Defaults are also used for any dyamic menu funcationality within your app. So it is strongly recommended that sensible defaults for all properties are configured.
To make changes to “Defaults”:
First sign into your dashboard using your credentials.
Then, on the left hand side of the screen is the “Defaults” tab. Click it.
Once there you’ll see all of the default settings of your app. Adjust them as you see fit.
Once you’re happy with your changes, you can “save” your defaults.
Then, after the page reloads, click “apply to app” on the right side of the field.
If you want to change all default values, say when your app goes through a rebranding, then click “Apply All to AppMap” at the bottom of the page. This will apply all fields to the app map.
Note that after you publish, all your changes will occur in app as all these changes can be made in real time.
