The Website Alerts Alerting Mechanism provides an embeddable HTML snippet that clients can add to a page on their website. This snippet will display an alert as a banner when there is an active notification. It works similarly to an RSS feed, where the HTML snippet checks the AppArmor server to see if there is an active alert.

Groups

As with other Alerting Mechanisms, web pages can be organized into groups, which can then be added to Sending Profiles

Subscribers

Adding a subscriber will generate a new embed code, which will allow you to receive detailed tracking regarding end-users' interaction with the website banner on different web pages.

Customization

You can customize the HTML that is displayed when there is an active notification.

  1. Under Alerting Mechanisms, find Website Alerts and click "View Details":

  2. On the subscribers tab, select the website you'd like to modify the HTML for, and click "Modify":

  3. Edit the HTML in the "Website Template HTML" field, and click Save.

  4. Test! We always recommend that you test your changes to make sure that you're happy with the output.
