The Alert Status feature allows you to publish passive animated notification about security issues to users.  The notification properties (styling elements, icons, etc.) as well as the notification text.

Alert Status notifications also appear in an “Alert History”. This is useful for providing updates to ongoing security issues.

More about the Alert Status

The alert status is a persistent notification found at the top of the main menu of your app. Unlike push notifications, the alert status is a non-intrusive form of communication and will not notify the user of a change if they are outside the app.

Typically the Alert Status is used to complement a push notification by providing updates on a fluid emergency situation. However, it can also be used to raise the importance of one particular and persistent safety issue. As an example, if your campus has an increased level of bicycle thefts, you could use the alert status to bring this issue to the attention of a user in your app.
