The Assets section page allows you to createmanage resources for your app such as images, PDF files, videos and more. There are two storage options for assets, they are:

...

  • App Content which is

    publish embedded files (images, etc.)

published and embedded into to your app for offline ready viewing

  • Hosted Content which are files

    (images, PDFs, etc.)

that are hosted by AppArmor for access within your app when online

We recommend App Content files be as small as possible to minimize the storage footprint of your app on user devices.  Large files are best loaded as hosted content if offline access isn’t necessary.

Content made uploaded in this section is available through the designer.

Files can be dragged and dropped into these panes to upload. Content uploaded is available through the designer.

App Content

App Content files are embedded into your app. They are stored in the apps local storage. There is a limit of 5 MB for App Content because these files are downloaded as part of the app settings. So keeping the file size small is important for quick initial loading of the app, and to conserve user bandwidth.

We strongly recommend removing unnecessary files to ensure the best possible experience for mobile app users.

Hosted Content

This content is online-only and hosted on the secure AppArmor servers. This means that the user has to have an active data connection to see this content. These URLs are only visible to Dashboard users and app users. There is a 5MB/file limit. There is a 40 character limit for folder and file names.

Because of inconsistent mobile device rendering of PDF files, the Hosted Content page will convert any PDF files to Images automatically. This ensures consistent rendering of the information on all devices.
